Prof. Adnan Ibrahimbegovic da Sorbonne Universités de Paris virá pelo Programme des Chaires Franco-Brésiliennes

The  outstanding researcher and preeminent Professor from “Sorbonne Universités” in Paris, Prof. Adnan Ibrahimbegovic, will cooperate with Prof. Paulo de Mattos Pimenta and his Computational Mechanics Group during his stay at our Department. Together, they will work on the conclusion of a new Book entitled “Nonlinear Mechanics of Structures” and on a research project entitled “Renewable energy production by innovative wind-turbines offshore and inland”.

Prof. Adnan Ibrahimbegovic  is a “Membre Senior” of the IUF (Institut Universitaire de France), the most prestigious Research Chair, attributed to only 1% of the French University Professors in all domains, and the only one to have such position for engineering science in 2015 – see e.g. http://www.iufrance.fr/. Recently, he has awarded with the “Chair for Computational Mechanics” (a quite new position in France) at TU Compiègne, with the mission of building interdisciplinary research and Graduate study programs within the group of Sorbonne Universities, which includes Paris-Sorbonne, University Pierre Marie Curie, TU Compiègne and the INSEAD (Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires). His recognition in France was confirmed by the promotion in 2009 to Professor “Classe Exceptionnelle”, the highest possible rank for French University Professors, granted to only very few at the age of 50.
